Notes about the images
- Quality:
the JPG compression could use (of course) some quality improvements, in some pictures (which can't be achieved even at the lowest compression level). In the future, CDs with lossless (PNG) compression and higher resolutions will be made available.
- Colors:
all images are 24-bit True Color (3 bytes per pixel). Monitors set to display less colors will change the original appearance of the images.
- Size:
Images m101 onwards are 1024x768 pixels; images m1 to m100 are 640x480.
How to browse the galleries
- All the galleries have thumbnails (which are 160x120 in size); there are on average 20 pictures in each gallery so it may take a few seconds to load.
- Under each thumbnail there is a link, which takes you to another page, with the full size version of the little picture.
- To help your browsing, each gallery has a navigation bar at its bottom.
- Single picture pages are there in order to prevent the free webspace providers' bots to mistake the
various nodes of this site with doorway pages or file storage sites.
- Using page views and not direct picture views enables webspace providers to put or pop up the banner ads which fund their service, which is free to me, and that I use to make all this stuff available to you. If these providers will switch from free to paying, you can say goodbye to this website and its contents :(
Usage
- To set an image as desktop wallpaper, right-click it and select "Set as wallpaper" or similar
- To save an image on your computer, right-click it and select "Save image as..." or similar
Image resolution
- What if my monitor is set to a lower resolution than the image(s)?
******** Resample/resize down the image to your monitor resolution with a graphics program. I recommend Paint Shop Pro.
- What if my monitor is set to a higher resolution than the image(s)?
******** Consider buying the CDs (coming soon), or, if you care just for two or three images, you can request (free of charge) a higher resolution (up to 1600x1200) copy of your favorite(s) fractals. Please be moderated with your requests.
